Prismacolor Pencils on Canson mi-tientes paper approx. 18 x 24".
One of my old 100% colored pencil works from my CPSA (Colored Pencil Society of America) days. I was a Signature Member (Didn't keep the membership after not doing colored pencil work in years.). This was shown at one international exhibition hosted by CPSA and a national exhibition hosted by a Colorado chapter of CPSA, and featured in a book called "The Best of Colored Pencil 5".

Wow! Amazing work! I was a member of CPSA a long time ago, for a couple of years. The competition is very tough. I can see why this made the Best of Colored Pencil - Stunning work!

Oh my goodness, this loooks like a painting. I want to camp in your yard in a tent and take lessons all summer.

This was originally done on a dare from a watercolorist who said "You can't paint water with pencils". What a load of nonsense it was. XD ^^ My colored pencil technique is very time-consuming (but then again, that might be everything I do... haha ^^; ) -- any one spot of this piece has between 4 and 7 layers of colors laid on with light pressure.
Jul 16th, 2011 ReplyQuakerNinja
Lol you sure showed him. So layers of light pressure is the way to go. I tend to really do things heavy. I'm so used to inks, I don't do soft very well.
Jul 16th, 2011 Reply SubscriberAruarianDancer
Well, I write and draw with very light pressure with most anything. XD The first time I got my tablet, the mouse was working fine, but the stylus won't do anything when I drew on, and I was convinced that the tablet was defective right out of the box. Turns out my hand pressure was so light I had to adjust the pressure/sensitivity reading setting on the program. lol
