Bootcamp and an External HD

Anyone know if it's possible to boot windows from an external hard drive with bootcamp? i think it might be possible with a firewire but i don't know if anyone tried it out and it worked flawlessly or not.

Only reason i'm asking is because i'm gonna need to boot an online game on windows from an external hd when i can, lol.
