Macbook 15 inch -- 2GB RAM -- Best laptop I've owned so far. But the PRO is just so much sexier and more performant.
Apple 23 Cinema -- Best monitor I've owned by very very far. Everything is crisp on this monitor.
In my opinion, your design skills grow a lot just by switching to Mac and getting a Cinema. You get a better design sense and you develop a taste for uncluttered things and simplicity. You get inspired by the masterpiece of design that is the Mac. Every single detail of it.
I have the white macbook :D it's beautiful and every since I got it, it's like my favoritest thing EVER and I'm absolutely in love with it!
an ipod of course :D I have the old one that they don't put in stores anymore. and I have the remote for the ipod. the remote, imo, is not worth it. O_O I also have the bose headphone that they have in the apple stores connected to the ipods, but that's not an apple product.
oh yeah they had these remote thingie. it's more like the....ionno what they're called, the ones you connect to the headphones so then you can navigate through the songs and change volume when your ipod is in the backpack or something. it's not really useful though. I thought they would be.
An old Dual G4 1.25 ghz,... old 17 flat panel... (and a nice 9x12 wacom).
Of course worth the price. A friend tell me once... that a machine must pay the same price you pay for it with work... at least 3 times. So if a macbook cost $1000, you need at least a work or freelance where you can recover $3000. So in terms of productivity, I think mine (a more expensive one), just pays itself at least 10 times (maybe more).
So yes, worth the price because it's faster, easier, well designed... and beautiful :)
I got mine more than a year back namely because of my course (ive sold my soul to Apple ever since XD ). It's an iBook G4 (1.42 GHz with 1GB DDR), pretty decent and runs programs such as Final Cut and Photoshop quite well. But its an older model, the newer models are supposed to be smoother and now come with iSight.
hey dude, it looks damn amazing! in terms of performance, its a core 2 duo, compared to my core duo macbook pro, so you can notice subtle speed differences..but it is damn fast! the screens soooo bright, can be annoying, but i had to have mines calibrated using spyder and now its perfect. a definate good buy!
My 20 inch iMac comes with everything standard like 2.16 ghz intel core 2 Duo, 1gb 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, i'll be getting more memory soon enough. Hopefully I'll max it out with 4 gigs. I've also got a 500 GB Time Capsule that comes with AirPort capabilities. I upgraded from tiger to Leopard, which rocks.
And i must say that buying Apple is so damn addictive, i want more!
