Lowbrow is a widespread populist art movement with origins in the underground comix world, punk music, hot-rod street culture, and other subcultures. Lowbrow art often has a sense of humor - sometimes the humor is gleeful, sometimes impish, and sometimes it is a sarcastic comment. The single most common tactic that Lowbrow artists employ is to poke fun at convention. They know the "rules" of art, and consciously choose not to abide by them. If the test of time for legitimacy (as an artistic movement) means that Lowbrow speaks/spoke, in visual terms, to the millions of us who share a common cultural, symbolic language - albeit a "lower" or "middle" class, media-driven language - then, yes, Lowbrow is here to stay. Anthropologists will probably study Lowbrow in the future, to attempt to figure out late 20th and early 21st century U.S. societal influences.

WHY I AM NOT A PAINTER I am not a painter, I am a poet. Why? I think I would rather bea painter, but I am not. Well, for instance, Mike Goldbergis starting a painting. I drop in ”Sit down and have a drink” he says. I drink; we drink. I look up. “You have SARDINES in it.””Yes, it needed something there.””Oh.” I go and the days go byand I drop in again. The paintingis going on, and I go, and the daysgo by. I drop in. The painting isfinished. “Where’s SARDINES?”All that’s left is justletters, “It was too much,” Mike says. But me? One day I am thinking ofa color; orange. I write a lineabout orange. Pretty soon it is awhole page of words, not lines. Then another page. There should beso much more, not of orange, ofwords, of how terrible orange is and life. Days go by. It is even inprose, I am a real poet. My poemis finished and I haven’t mentionedorange yet. It’s twelve poems, I callit ORANGES. And one day in a galleryI see Mike’s painting, called SARDINES. Perchè non sono un pittore Non sono pittore, sono poeta.Perché? Forse preferirei essere pittore, ma non lo sono. Ad esempio, Mike Goldbergsta iniziando un quadro. Vado a trovarlo ”Siediti e bevi qualcosa” dice Bevo, beviamo. Guardo in alto. “Ci hai scritto SARDINE.””Sì, lì ci mancava qualcosa.””Ah.” Me ne vado, passano i giornie ritorno. Il quadrova avanti; me ne vado, passano i giorni. Ritorno. Il quadro èfinito. “Dov’è SARDINE?”Resta solo qualche lettera, “era troppo pieno,” dice Mike. E io? Passano i giorni. È perfino in prosa, sono un vero poeta. La poesiaè finita e non ho ancora nominatol’arancio. Sono dodici poesie, le chiamoARANCE. E un giorno in una galleriavedo il quadro di Mike intitolato SARDINE. *If you tie me down and trap me Then the love is also tied down The future is also tied down It can't grow anymore CONTENTED ♥ I like people when they're at their best. They inspire me to get better. I like you if you like me. Not because I have something you need, but because you know and you like me ♥ I hate being in a situation when I should be strong and I feel tears in my eyes. I am simply CONTAGIOUS :))) - PERSONALiTY Certainly not the easiest person to understand, I am an introvert with a capital I. Emotions are hidden beneath the tough exterior that I possess. Although I can be kind and affable, my mood swings are unpredictable, tending to be bitter and melancholic, often feeling hurt unnecessarily. While I like to draw sympathy, I can be fairly insensitive towards others, snapping, being rude and short-tempered. However, my seemingly cruel behavior is only a clever means to hide my own insecurities and complexes. Inside,i'm almost like a timid, hurt child. I can be admirably kind, generous, understanding and gracious, if all is well with me. No matter how unpleasant I may seem to some people, I have my conscience that prompts me to do the right things - like standing by people in their time of need. Like most water signs, I too have good intuitive powers and mostly put them to good use in managing my life. I have an urge to travel to distant lands but i'm a home-loving person. I can do without being so crabby, if one may say so. I keep my moods in check. Because I remember the people I hurt most often are the ones who have been good to me. I tend to make a mountain out of the molehill and are prone to self-pity. I reserve some of my sensitivity for others who may need it - they're more DESERVING. I can be a tad untidy which won't endear me to more stable signs. and most of all.. I HATE PEOPLE SPELLING MY NAME THE WRONG WAY. it's quite simple, right ? :D bow!
