Shadowness - Aesali http://shadowness.com I love to write and most of my artwork is inspired by the stories I've created; most of all, they are just pieces of my imagination. I'm always think... en dreams http://shadowness.com/Aesali/dreams
This is a fantasy landscape I worked on in August of 2010 (have it up on my DA account, too) for someone very dear to me. I am very much trying to get back into my art, but free time is scarce these days. Fantasy and landscape art is something I enjoy a lot and I'm trying to improve greatly. I had a little help for this piece, but hope to move beyond that in the future. I have some resource links below. I spent a lot of time in Terragen trying to perfect the atmosphere (general mood and color), water and land to match the view I saw in my mind. I used one of Hameed's starfield stocks to help enhance my own; his are so beautiful that I couldn't resist finding a use. I can't create earth-like planets with clouds very well just yet, so I used his stock for that, as well. The other two planets I created using my own textures with the help of Alyn's (DA) tutorial -- although, you can't quite see the details in those since I resized them for this project. The tower was rendered in Poser and all post work on the image, brush work done to add color to the celestial sky was done in Photoshop. I'm trying to brush up on my digital painting. I used a few textured brushes (some customized in Photoshop and some I made from my photos) for the cloudy, dusty nebula in the background, but didn't detail it too much because I wanted the focal point to stand out more. This is an imaginative piece, an image in my mind that I tried to bring to life in Photoshop. I might take the PSD out later and add some more noticeable stars, but that's it. This took forever! :) I resized this down from 3000x2000, so I may have sacrificed some detail in doing so. Sorry about that. It's only meant to be a portrait work. —— Thanks to: Much thanks to Mr. Smith's AMAZING tutorial on how to make beautiful jewels in photoshop. Please check his gallery out; it's incredible: http://nmsmith.deviantart.com/gallery/764580#/dfc7ku. Thanks to him, I was able to add the jewels to this work and am learning a lot by experimenting with this technique. The base for the jewels on this character's forehead is by AerySoul, rendered without any textures. I had planned to add them myself later on and finally have. —— Thanks for viewing! And I added a rainbow, just because I've always wanted to put one in a landscape work of mine. Anyway, hope you enjoy it. I really like to write, so I try to create portrait images of the characters I write about. I purchase morphs from merchants for the time being and edit the dials a bit, then do postwork in Photoshop. I tried to give this image a mysterious feel with the lighting and, especially, the eyes. I was proud of the detail I managed to render in the face (I don't have the best computer capability) and tried to bring that out more in Photoshop. Simara is a fallen angel character concept; she has very unusual, yet beautiful eyes. Tue, 10 May 2011 03:58:45 -0400
