i feel this photo could either be closer or farther from the subject. right now, the distance feels a bit uncomfortable. also, it is very dark throughout the entire piece. maybe you can lighten it up a little? i actually think this photo would look a lot better if you cropped the top and bottom, and made it long and thin. there would be more focus, and variation in light and dark, if you cropped it so that the drew drop was still in the shot, and a lot of the business of the rest of the petals were not.
thanks for your advice! I definitely see what you're saying about the light to dark ratio. && I like the idea of cropping it thin.. thanks so much for the thought you put into this! [:
For the critique part.. hmm i would suggest a resize on the photo :)
I know by default SN resize the photo for the preview but... you are loosing soo much details that way. Also a little PS curve or even a job in CameraRaw to bring back some lightning from the right would be great... not much, the mood is lovely that way. Just to bring back some details.
On a more technical side, the focus can be more attractive on the first part of the flower instead of the second (back part of your macro). I can't say its bad.. i really love that photo... but the blur just take us a bit too far into your subject. :)
Beside the size that really don't fit my screen :D i really love that one. Colors are brilliant and the mood is heavy. Great one ~
I know I should resize the majority of my photos, but I'm not exactly sure as to how to go about doing so... do I just scale them in photoshop?? && what is 'SN..?' Thank you so much for your comments, they're greatly appreciated. I'll definitely take some of your advice when I'm fixing them up.
I love my Lumix. It's amazing. (=
SN ~ ShadowNess :)
You can use Photoshop to rescale ~ image/image size or with the Crop Tool ~ C
Also if you take your photo in RAW and not in Jpg (if you dont well.. change it from now on :) You can resize in CameraRaw.. Photoshop program.

if you go to image size in photoshop, and check the box for keep proportions, you can type in the numbers you want and keep the photo in proportion.
