i do agree with some of the other comments that some editing in photoshop would take this photo to the next level, but you have a great starting point! very nice work
really? this is a photo? it looks like a painting to me o.O the colors are so simple and contrasted-- the blacks are so black, and the texture of the petals and leaves look as if they were colored in. how did you achieve such an effect in a photograph?
wow it looks much better now! I think the picture is now much more interesting.
I like to see the flower with the center all in black. It makes the photo work better and makes the flower to stand out even more. I also think you did some editing in the colours of the picture, the flower seams to have more vibrant colors which is great :) And you did a great editing, everything looks very natural.
I'm glad you improved this photo! And thank you for warming me about this new version of the photo.
This goes to my favs!
I always enjoy seeing this kind of photo's that makes us think what is in the photo.
What I like most in this picture are the black shadows in the flower petals and the black background on the top. I wonder how you did that because it's really good and makes the purple petals stand out and create different perceptions of this photo. Perhaps in Photoshop I would edit the photo and cover with black that greenish thing that is in the center of the flower, that imo looks a bit odd in the picture.
thanks so much for the critique! I think I may just take your advice and photoshop it because the flower's center does through the photo off a bit. Thanks again!

The colours are beautiful, but some processing could pull the more vibrant tones out (the violets and yellow of the centre). Either way, lovely shot.
