My work is based on inspiration that springs from inside of myself when I intentionally deny my personality. The inspiration naturally led to the tangible expression in the form of my art production. I deny it intentionally. I search for familiar that all of us may share deep inside by suppressing my own uniqueness. It may be found in the pleasant rhythm we heard inside of our mother as unborn baby or the feeling of deja-vu. Feb 18thNahò:ten kén:ton' ~~~~ WARNING think before you re-enforce native stereotypes~ it's racist~ example... our women DID NOT wear head dress!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The image of a warbonnet and warpaint wearing Indian is one that has been created and perpetuated by Hollywood and only bears minimal resemblance to traditional regalia of Plains tribes. It furthers the stereotype that Native peoples are one monolithic culture, when in fact there are 500+ distinct tribes with their own cultures. It also places Native people in the historic past, as something that cannot exist in modern society. We don't walk around in ceremonial attire everyday, but we still exist and are still Native. (Native Appropriations) Learn to constrain your inclination to constantly privilege your perspective~ as well if you choose to use any of my works~ ask and ye shall be surprised at my response.... just ask.......... Feb 14thI am a self-taught artisan, with no formal training. I paint in oils, acrylics, watercolors. I create jewelry, wall art and garden sculpture from wire, glass, beads, stone and wood. I do fibre art and jewelry. I am originally from Kingston, Ont. but have lived in Napanee, Ont. for almost 20 years, with my husband and 2 sons. I co-own a small hand-craft Eco Boutique called Frayed Around the Edges, with a friend. I am willing to try just about any art form and wish there were more hours in the day to do so. I believe that everyone needs a little art in their life. /www.facebook.com/ShackledfaeArt
Dec 31stThe magic of the morning atmospheres, the reflection of an insect on its grass, the droplet in balance, the colours of the brook in movement? The sweetest colours in the most marked contrasts, nothing counts more than the emotion of the immortalisation of an atmosphere. Hoping that you will spend a pleasant moment....
