Model: Chloe Grace Moretz; Tools: Adobe Illustrator CC 2014, Wacom Bamboo Pen & Touch Fully furnished under KyouFactoryâ„¢. This is my first attempt of doing hyper-realism using meshtool. I learned a lot things in doing this artwork. Patience, and more technical approach of doing this art effectively. It really is only a time thing, otherwise, I'd stick with this style permanently, but, I just don't have enough hours in the day to do it any more. Probably 2 hours in Poser 9, and easily 12+ hours in Photoshop CS5 over two days. It's been a long long time since I've put so much paint into an image. Did it specifically because I know these characters SO well that I knew their specific facial features (faster for me to paint than morph in Poser- for me anyway), and creating a portrait of them without their individual character's emotions and facial expressions just looked dead and lifeless.. and wow, if you've ever tried to emote in Poser? REALLY bloody difficult to get it to look natural because the skin just does not flex the way a real human (erm... Blood Elf)'s skin moves- so they demanded that I paint them by hand. Neither of these are my Main, but they are definitely my favorites in WoW right now-- my Demonology Warlock, Merry Widow.. and my Fury Warrior, Oubliette. I created Merry Widow just because all of my WoW characters have practical personalities. After 7+ years of playing, I wanted one just so she could wear all the pretty robes and flounce around and be girly-- so Merry was born. I don't role play, but if you spend enough time playing any character you'll eventually start getting a feel for what makes them different from your other characters- and Merry is very much a *merry* widow who enjoys herself. Since *everything* can be solved by enslaving more demons- she's usually accompanied by a flock of wild imps and her floating Grimoire, but sometimes a shadowy specter can be seen trailing behind (via her haunted memento)- I like to think of it as the departed spouse who's "sudden, but tragic mysterious illness and death" helped her become a such a happy widow. Oubliette is the Warrior I started this most recent Winter as a distraction to help me get through the holidays.. I'd tried Warriors in the past and never liked playing them, but something about recent changes- now I LOVE her. Oubliette is definitely my "no bullshit" character, and, I think she's probably a bit of an asshole, the only thing in the world (of Warcraft) that she tolerates is her little mechanical robo-bear cub- Stolichnaya- not because he's cute, but because that's where she hides her flask. I love playing her. After a WoW career of playing Ranged- I find that there's something really satisfying about being able to walk up and smashface to solve your problems. Anyway, this all started yesterday when I loaded up WoW with the intent on getting Oubliette a few levels (I'm a really, really, reeeeeeeaaaaaaallly causal leveler- I want to take my time and SOAK in the lore and environment so I have a stable of various toons at various levels- and love them all).. And I ended up wondering what would happen if my toons actually ran in to each other in inns and what not, and the idea for this portrait hit me- mostly because these are two characters that I park in exactly the same spot in Orgrimmar- so they're pretty much occupying the same space - they'd run into each other eventually... Of course, if they did, I'm sure Merry would say something cheeky, and Oubliette would probably respond by clocking her one, but hey- for the sake of the image we can pretend Oubliette lost a bet or something. Females are V4 & ++ Morphs via Daz3d.com Face Morphs are my own Skin - Warlock = Lyon, Warrior = Narelle, both from Renderosity.com both HEAVILY painted- like seriously- don't expect those faces/makeup options out of those skins, folks. Not too much work in Photoshop after, as these models all have really decent builds/textures so there wasn't much to repair or clean up. I painted the skin a bit and played with the exposure and hue and that was pretty much it, so 2-3 hours at most. Any time I get a quiet second my brain defaults to "Oh NOES" rather than my usual art-brain.. Still, I'm in need of distraction, so I've started going back through my old art files for inspiration- as I have easily 50 unfinished projects from the last 5-6 years, if not 100- most were good they're just ones I lost interest in on the way- usually because I had another idea while working on them and THAT idea demanded instant attention (because I have the attention span of a fruit fly). This is "Knockers the Elf" (So named because of her ridiculously grand enhancements- it's what we started referring to her as around the house because there just wasn't anything else you could call her and it stuck..) who was originally rendered back in 2012. This wasn't her intended set, but at the time I wanted to show off the awesome coin clothes of "Power Barbarian" from Powerage (@ Renderosity.com) so I gave her a little more oomph than my usual models because of the way the clothes are built !!LIFE LESSON: you don't waste good under-boob opportunities when you have them!! I pulled her up yesterday, gave her some SSS, and started filling out the set behind her. I didn't plan on her being a "loot elf" but it seemed the obvious choice once I got rolling.. I like to think of her as something like the Tooth Fairy- but infinitely more fun to have randomly appear at the end of a quest.. I don't normally like blondes, or big cheesy smiles, but I think it suits her well enough. Annd the model list is going to be HYOOGE- I might miss one or two things, if I do, I'll try to come in as I remember, but my apologies to any content creators if I forget to mention your wonderful models. V4 & ++ Morphs from Daz3d.com Character is a morph of my own Snowflake Skin from Renderosity.com (sss and saturation adjustment by me, and it's fairly painted over at this point- so don't expect it to be golden- the original skin is quite pale but ruddy looking) Elven Prince Hair via Daz3d.com (painted over) Coin bra & skirt are from Powerage's Power Barbarian via Renderosity.com (retextured using ParrotDolphin's Metals) Ankle/hand/wrist/belly coins & some chest/neck jewels are via Salome from Renderosity.com Dangling necklaces are via Semiramis from RuntimeDNA.com Green beaded upper arm cuffs are via Kali Bundle from RuntimeDNA.com Upper Headpiece via Celestial Jewels from (I think) Daz3d.com, although it might be RuntimeDNA, as it's been 5 years or more since I bought them- I'm old, it's hard to remember. Lower headpiece via Elven Circlets from Renderosity.com Coins- stacked & spread, as well as left and middle chests are via Captain's Gallery from Renderosity.com (retextured using ParrotDolphin's Metal textures) Metal chest on the right- via Exnem's Coffers from Renderosity.com Candelabra is from DM's Moon Cult via Daz3d.com Tall Metal Brazier in the very back is from DM's Fantasy Bath via Daz3d.com Curtains, small gold cask, and goblet are from DM's Dark Legacy via Renderosity.com Several of the Urns are from DM's Lynette's Dark Rites Bundle via Daz3d.com Another Urn from DM's Refuge via Renderosity.com Dagger is from DM's Secret Chamber via Daz3d.com Poser 10/Photoshop CS6/Intuos 4 She was originally 3-4 hours in Poser- on her re-working, I'd put it at around 6 (as I'm SUPER particular about my light and composition so I render all day before I'm happy), and about 2 hours in Photoshop fixing tears and poke throughs, painting hair/face/skin All elements are either created/painted/morphed by me and/or are purchased resources and are fully commercially licensed for use by me.
